Hi all,
I will be receiving Maguireothamnus speciosus next week. I have a lot of experience with a variety of difficult plants. But especially for this species there is almost no growing information online. Does anyone have experience growing? What kind of soil mix have you used and what kind of tips do you have?
I will be putting them alongside my heliamphora's in my highland tank:
- day temp: 20°c
- night temp: 11,8°c
- RH 85%
My first ideas for a growing mix are 60% perlite, 30% "hydro korrels" (dutch product) and 10% Long fibred Sphagnum. My theory behind this mix is its quick drying and draining nature, in nature this plant grows in cracks between rocks. It looks almost like a succulent. My only worry is the plant will dry out to much from bareroot shipping.
Open for your feedback and experience, please let me know!
