Effects of Equatorial conditions on CP's

For those of us who take the terrarium approach to cultvation and provide perpetually sunny days, with no 360 degree light and no shade and very little temperature differential, both diurnally and seasonally - does that have any deleterious effects upon the plants, down the road?

Well i dont know about CP's, but with woody plants such as oaks that usually get just one growth flush a season (two if they are lucky), when provided perpetually sunny days and no shade and very little temperature differential, they make 8 flushes of growth instead of one (this was with Quercus macrocarpa , and with the dormancy requirements of this species being respected as well during the tests)

Other things i have seen have also suggested such conditions encourage more growth over a longer season than natural conditions in other plants as well.

Okay, so that would be the short term effect. But what about in the long run? Would it be like someone growing VFT's in a terrarium, under lights, that look good the first year and maybe the second, but decline thereafter?
