Drosera hirticalyx

Fernando Rivadavia sent some new photos of the type Drosera hirticalyx from Cerro Marahuaka, Territorio Amazonas, Venezuela. They are beautiful plants forming tall columns of dead leaves. I resized the photos for the Web. The larger original photos are found at

Another beautiful plant. Fernando my compliments on your photographic skills.

Unfortunately both D.hirticalyx plus the huge D.roraimae with pink flowers growing on Marahuaka were only beginning to flower. One month later and I would've found tons of ripe seeds. I did get a small amount however. Allen Lowrie now has these available on his seed list, just write to him for a copy:

Gorgeous.
These won't be cheap, as I would be surprised it Fernando does not use this outlet to reimburse this expensive and dangerous mission he partook.
I would be shocked if there were more than three seed/pack on the meristocaulis ,and they were less than...$12 US/pack.
I can't wait to see pictures of them showing up in people's collections.

Cheers,

Joe

There will be a few of us to "convince" that person of the error of his ways, I'm sure.

Truly breathtaking as always, Fernando!
