After 17 days, I had the following results...

1 out of 12 Probosidea seeds germinated.
2 out of 7 Ibicella seeds germinated.

I noticed that there seemed to be a 2nd inner seed coat (thin and translucent compared to the hard outer black/white seed coat).

So I scrapped part of it off the rest of the Ibicella seeds and they all germinated in next 2 days!

Today, I peeled part of the seed coat off the Probosidea seeds.

Thanks for providing the info! I never knew there was a second seedcoat. Do you soak them in warm water or nick them?

Careful when doing this as there is higher risk in damaging the endosperm and embryo. I tried doing this last year and ended up splitting the endosperm of several seed in halves, destroying the seed. Maybe my dexterity sucks though. :)

Jimscott, I nicked them with a scalpel. But I am pretty good at it. ;)

There is more Ibicella and Probosidea germination today! :boogie:
