Any luck with the Ibicella, guys? My Ibicella are barely popping up after a direct sow in the ground. I swear, they're so touchy... none of them germinated in seedling pots.
Very pretty flower. On one of my Devil Claw plants I can see the tips of the claws sticking out of the bottom of the fruit. Should I go in for the Harvest or wait a little longer? Just wondering.
Aw, you guys are lucky. I decided to grow mine in a patch that was supposed to be half tomatoes and half devil's claws. Big mistake... the roots of the tomatoes overtook everything. They basically outgrew the devil's claws above and below ground. Both the Proboscidea and Ibicella were destroyed. Nothing made it this year. A full season wasted.
Neither, as far as research can find. THey have sticky leaf surfaces, but past that, there's no hard evidence they even use other insects to process nutrients, like Darlingtonia and Roridula do.
