one of the new traps on a dente I just purchased has opened up revealing a set of teeth similar to a typical vft. I am sure it is a dente because the older traps are short and spiky like a regular dente is supposed to look like. does anyone know what causes this so i can prevent it.

Hi Ninja

I have had that happen before.  Once in a blue moon a dente trap will "revert" back to its origin.  Its not much you can do it about since its a little genetic trick of nature.  It isn't a big deal.  It doesn't mean your entire plant is going turn typical. I'd just enjoy it since its an unusual look.
