turns out darlingtonia is incredibly easy to grow, and prolific at that, if you simply pay attention to it's need for COOL WATER.
my new friend's technique is to water a very large (3 gallon?) pot to the brim every day will cool/ cold water. we have healthy tap water so it's just from water that hasn't been sitting in the hose warming.
she also lines the planter with a plastic bag, but it is otherwise a draining pot.
I'm used to standing water so we will see if I can keep up with daily watering needs, but believe me when I tell you her cobra plant GROWS
