Darlingtonia experiment with organic serpentine based karri peat mulch

I will be ordering some juvenile Darlingtonia for an experiment and will post updates here. I will be using 2:2:1 organic serpentine based karri peat mulch/perlite/lfsm. It contains organic peat moss with bluish black serpentine bark mulch, sourced from my own mix of ingredients from California carnivores and serpentine rural farms. This may just be an experiment however MULTIPLE ADDED PRECAUTIONS WILL BE TAKEN FOR SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL RISKS! MAY CONTAIN MILD TRACES OF HEAVY METALS!
I want to see if the association with heat tolerance and serpentine soil works in cultivated specimens.
Will keep everyone posted with pics on progress. I live in a warmer part of Michigan so it's generally cooler but summers can get up to 90 degrees with high humidity early July through late August even though summer heat is very short lived here. They will go in their own upland bog outside in partial but bright sun with tall pots and an aquarium air pump.

'Interesting experiment. Your climate conditions might duplicate those of higher-elevation environments of Darlingtonia. I know in the lower elevations in the Siskiyous it gets pretty hot in summer. The native colonies I've seen in the mountains all get a constant trickling flow of water.

Assuming it goes well I will probably send some potted specimens to a nursery like Carnivero or California carnivores to get there review. Big 'if' though as this is just an experiment. Going to start this week as I'm preparing outdoor space. The threat of cold weather finally has passed here lol

Definitely keep us posted. I have one medium sized one that I grow in an aquabowl from Amazon. I add ice a couple times a week and it is doing very well. I also just won 25 seeds from another forum and will be attempting to grow them once they come out of cold strat.
