I will be ordering some juvenile Darlingtonia for an experiment and will post updates here. I will be using 2:2:1 organic serpentine based karri peat mulch/perlite/lfsm. It contains organic peat moss with bluish black serpentine bark mulch, sourced from my own mix of ingredients from California carnivores and serpentine rural farms. This may just be an experiment however MULTIPLE ADDED PRECAUTIONS WILL BE TAKEN FOR SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL RISKS! MAY CONTAIN MILD TRACES OF HEAVY METALS!
I want to see if the association with heat tolerance and serpentine soil works in cultivated specimens.
Will keep everyone posted with pics on progress. I live in a warmer part of Michigan so it's generally cooler but summers can get up to 90 degrees with high humidity early July through late August even though summer heat is very short lived here. They will go in their own upland bog outside in partial but bright sun with tall pots and an aquarium air pump.
