You mentioned that you used bottom heat when growing them so I figured I would give that a try. This evening I put a seedling heat mat underneath the water tray connected to a thermostat set to 60F.Yes, 'way back when I used to grow this species, I kept it in standing water all of the time. It did well that way. In fact I was surprised when I started growing other species of Nepenthes that they didn't like their toes continually wet. Khasiana was once one of the most common of the genus in cultivation.
There was a wild temperature swing of 50 degrees in my greenhouse today. 36F low, 86F high. The khasiana look unphased but I figure if I give them a little extra heat they'll appreciate it.
I just need to come up with a mix that is suited to sitting in water well. They are all in a mix of LFS and perlite and John told me that the sphagnum will degrade quickly when sitting in water.
I'm considering a chunky mix of some peat/ shredded cypress mulch, perlite, and gravel sized red pumice.
