D. paradoxa killer?

Not a Number

Hello, I must be going...

Back in this thread I mentioned that I had found a silk nest/tube and some bug droppings (caterpillar like) in the moss of my D. paradoxa pot where some of the plants went south (see this thread.).

Well last night while going over the same pot with a tweezers and magnifying glass I found this pupa case
(sorry about the crappy photos - 'toy' microscope cam):

It's about 1/4 of an inch long. Could this critter have munched the other D. paradoxa in the pot?

I'll have to post some recent pictures of these plants because the D. paradoxa seems to be doing well.

Yeah, the creepy part is that the critter is either still in the terrarium somewhere or loose in the house.

*Visions of a parasite bursting from my chest* :puke:

Do I owe you anything? I have a feeling I do but can't remember what it was.....

Anyway if I do i'll throw in a D. paradoxa with the other thing I owe you.

Not me. But if you have any Drosera meristocaulis seeds or plants I wouldn't refuse it.

JimScott, I think 1/4" is way too big for fungus gnats.

They're tiny.

And they do make good 'dew food.
