cut the flower?

so my saracina X Swainian is waking up and sent out one pitcher, along with a flower....they only grow like a centermeter every 5 days or so.....i wont breed it...so should i let the flower grow? I just cut my vft;s flower off 2 weeks ago...and no traps have shot up since....any idea why.

If you don't want the seed, then yes cut it off. It will save the plant some energy that it will spend on leaf production.

I've heard it's not the flower that drains energy but it is seed production. Maybe someone else can verify this, but in theory that means you can cut the flower after petal drop to avoid seed production.
