Cooling issues for highland neps

Just wondering...

Will they be willing to settle for only cool roots i.e. watering with cold water at night?

Or must they have cool leaves as well as cool roots at night?
 
Hmm, I remember asking this sometime back. I think the most ppl agreed that the plant would be better off being all-round cool (leaves and media). Although watering with ice-water will help to lower the surrounding temps as well as a little above the pot (in your case should be okay, the plants are still quite small?)
 
Thanks, Jason. Currently, I can use the wine cooler until they are about 4-5". By then, I think they would take to the warmer climate better and I can switch to iced water. Honestly, the electricity bill has already become a issue for my household.
