is it maditory that bog containers need to be black so that light does not reach the roots? i have several perfect containers that would do well as bog containers but they are clear. i could fix this problem by lining the inside with weed liner but is this process really necessary?

no, not necessary. Use whatever your little heart desires. Root exposure is even good for some CP's. As new plants can be easily propagated from the roots.
