Up for auction is a lovely and hard to come by Cephalotus Hummer's Giant.

Winner pays shipping - approximately 1 lb via US Priority Mail from zipcode 06045.

It's an established plant in a 3 inch diameter plastic cup pot (yes there are holes in the bottom) and has been growing an a terrarium in my basement under fluorescent lights. It's growing in the Charles Brewer Mix.

Wow, that is pretty impressive. Must resist temptation...Must stick to budget...I won't even try, just gonna sit back and watch the donation pile up. :-))

For those who would like to know, the Charles Brewer mix consists of:

45% dried spagnum moss
45% medium perlite
8% peat/sand mixture
2% wood charcoal

I heard you can increase amounts of peat and sand without problems.

Oh Boy, things have sure gone up in price since I was last into growing CP's.
You're making me sweat! But I can't take it with me!.... (After my wife kills me!)

Okay, I'm in for $60

Orchids for 5K . . .

Oh, I don't know about that. More than a few times, orchid collectors have shelled out thousands for something that looked like a dried twig in moss . . .
