Capensis vs spatulata

So I have two little sundew in the same tray in my window. The spatulata seems to be thriving from what I can tell, but the capensis was doing SO well and has suddenly dropped off. He stopped producing dew, and is slowly turning pale and yellow. I dont know enough about the differences between the species to understand why the one is thriving and the other is not. Here are some pics showing where they live (https://photos.app.goo.gl/2F4is3eVc5L5QCun8), the happy spatulata (https://photos.app.goo.gl/Ru3WuEEEaBL3uxvXA) and the sad capensis (https://photos.app.goo.gl/kNAiB3ffKYphd4rC9)

How long have you had the plants? Were the D. capensis tentacles more red when you got it like this? https://www.flytrapshop.com/collections/sundew/products/drosera-capensis I see some very slight coloration there, so if it was like that then it wants more light. It doesn't look like it's dying at this point, just not the amount of light it really wants.

The media looks dry to me, the soil should always be moist, but not waterlogged.

Your "spatulata" is tokaiensis, but the conditions it wants doesn't change much for it. The capensis looks a bit light-starved, and they have VERY long roots so a much deeper pot would probably benefit it, but mostly it looks fine.

Thanks all! I'm going to give the capensis more light via my grow lights and probably repot into a larger pot. I dont know if I have the right soil- I have regular potting soil, cactus potting soil, more sphagnum moss, and peat moss and access to beach sand (and charcoal) . Would any combination of these be appropriate for repotting or should I track down a specific carnivorous plant mix?

For a few months now and yes it was much more red at the beginning!

Thanks! The picture is misleading I think. Definitely moist as I utilize the tray method so they are nearly always sitting in a slight bit of water (I let it dry slightly between waterings and dont put too much water in at a time to prevent becoming waterlogged)

Oh interesting. Certainly I bought the plant labeled as Drosera Spatulata from ***************.com , but they do seem very similar
