can nepenthes repair infant pitchers?

I didn't think so but after alot of reading/trial and error I believe I am finally winning the battle of wills with my echinostoma(for the moment anyway). one of the leaves had a tiny little pitcher on it and it changed to dark brown/black but today I noticed it was back to a healthy color of a real light brown.....is that possible? i guess it is; does it happen often?
