betta eat spiders?

can my betta eat live insects, because i heard they are carnivores. if i put a small spider in the water, will he eat it? the spider is 1/4 his size.

It may still be a mismatch. Compare mouth size of betta to body of spider.

Mosquitos and gnats are ideal. So start at that size when considering suitability.
