Are heliamdhoras safe for froggies

Just to tease you: I recently got a pot with 1 big, 1 medium and 2 tiny Heliamphora minor x heterodoxa for only 5 Euro (about 5 Dollar&#33

. Thomas Carow sold great plants at our society meeting. In the USA Nepenthes and Heliamphora seem to be much more expensive than here, I think.

I wouldn't risk placing a heliamphora with any type of small frog becuase the frog probably couldn't escape once caught. Many small frogs have been known to drown in shallow water bowls. Larger frogs (Treefrogs mostly) should be fine with a small heliamphora in the tank with them. I'm sure many frogs would actually enjoy the presence of this plant at feeding time because it attracts the frog's prey into a smaller area (instead of all over the tank) making the prey easier to catch.

which heli's can tolerate higher night temps? my tank is exactly 80 degrees in the day and at night a shut off the heaters so it cools down to mid 70's and high 70's. i would mist the plant 3 times daily with cold water, and water with cold water.

i think heterodoxa doesn't mind higher temps but wasn't there a hybrid with heterodoxa and something else? hybrids are more tolerant right?

and how do these temps sound for a cephalotus?

Try H. heterodoxa x minor, seems to be the easiest hybrid around.

I would try to plug the holes with sphagnum moss. Just a thought.
