Since some of you seem to enjoy the helicopter pics I posted I thought I would share a hard work day back in January.

I'll let you figure out what we were doing.

I started off with an idea, I built the idea, and after every one I would improve on the design.

Please forgive the side ways pics and vids. I thought I had my cam in the mode where it automaticly right sides up the pics.
My first idea was done the day before and I didn't think to film it. So here is the second design.

Here's a couple of designs side by side.

Here's an idea that a coworker had. It didn't work to well. It's the last video by the way.

Here's the "pad"

I'm sure most of you have figured out what we were about to do. For the one's that didn't watch the videos.

We had one rocket explode. It was awesome. It exploded, then flew out of the pipe in peices. I am so upset I didn't film that one.

Ok, I see model rocket engines attached to sticks... but what was the point of the lanyard and numbers? You can't really tell from the video so did they fly straight? What's the highest they went? Looks like fun!

You can see a lot more on the full size vids. The numbers were because I had some numbers and some spare time after I finish building them. The orange paint is to help us see them after they was launched. The fluffy stuff at the end of the sticks is the wadding that comes with the engines. I put it there to slow the rockets down a little and so we can see them better.
