About winter dormancy temp

ok this is what im going to buy for my vft im going to get a 5 1/2 or maybe a 10 gallon fish tank i was going to fill it with peat about 4 or 5 inches and burry my vft in their pots in the peat so it would look like there not in a pot or should i just plant them in the peat without a pot but dormancy could be a problem if i plant with no pot i cant use the fridge but i could stick the whole tank outside in my shed in the winter. how cold can the plants take i live in pa and it can get in the 20's and single digits in the winter, but the shed might keep it warmer.

Remember, a wild vft's habitat will rarely get below frezzing. I would try and keep them around forty Farenheit. People say different things, but that is just my opinion.
