Very simple. A Rebel T2i on a tripod with a timer switch attached to it. A picture was taken once a second.

I'm a software developer so I then wrote some software to batch-resize the photos; I then dropped them into Windows Movie Maker and created the MP4.

That answer all the needed questions?
