3 = magic number?

i've been playing and making the traps close... and then remember i read somewhere each trap closes only 3 times? why is it 3? what's so special about the number?

Opening and closing involves growing.

IT only will grow to a certain size, then it cant anymore.

I've found it's 3 or 4. Also, it depends on if the plant actually eats anything --- otherwise I've found it opens and closes more than 4.

not to nag... But you guys do know that you shouldn't mess with the traps and it isn't good for the plant ...don't you?

The number of times does very and it will very on conditions.

There is no real way to know how many times that they will open and close.

But 3-5 is an average, so sometimes you may get more and sometimes you may get less.

But by playing with the traps, you take a chance on killing them faster, and if your plants aren't making new traps as fast as they die, the whole plant might not do so great.

I will admit that I did it when I got my first plant. But only once.

Now that you know that it works, I would leave it be and let it do its thing
