10,000k vs 6500k

Just as the title says, which is better? I know 6,500k are more common but I've seen people use 10,000k as well. Any suggestions?

10,000k does not have enough red.... just my humble opinion

I've been told that 10k lights are unsuitable for anything other than aquarium plants. At the same time I've heard mention of people using extremely blue lights like this to try to discourage Nepenthes from vining. I do not know if that actually works.
