My family and I are starting a new Terrarium made from a 29 Gallon Fish Aqurium.
What I have invisioned is a platform that is raised abou 8" from the bottom of the tank, and stretches about 75% the distance in length across the tank. This platform is where I would like to place my "land"...
I was told that this species grows best when grown with weeds in its pots. I hear that if moss, ferns, sedges, and grassy weeds are present in its pot, the plant will produce numerous pitchers among them. I grow mine in almost pure LFS and it looks healthy, but no pitchers. Anyone else has this...
I have a few packets of seed from my rescued Covington LA S. alata. These are seeds pollinated in their original natural habitat, so they represent the maximum genetic diversity preserved from the wild before destruction of the site.
Each packet has ~50 seeds. The seeds come from 3 different...

I keep seeing all the great photographs of Nepenthes and the tanks/greenhouses look so clean. What is the secret? Everywhere in my greenhouse it seems algae, ferns, mosses, and other green things crop up whenever the humidity is high. Do all of you scrub your benches, pots, and walls weekly? How...
Hi everyone

My favorites are...
Cat grass: Very easy to grow from seeds and very attractive bright green foliage. Even a black thumb would succeed with this.
Winter jasmine (jasminum polyanthum): Vine with dark green foliage and sweet smelling white/pink flowers.
Ferns: Most every fern ^_^'
