We have spotted a few maggots living in our purpurea pitchers, and I'm wondering if we even need to bother getting rid of them. Any flies that come of it will probably feed our capensis, and I don't know that they are hurting my purpurea. If I should get rid of them, how would I go about it...

That is awesome! I just started germinating some of these, and so far 14 sprouts have come up. I can't find a very detailed guide on these, is it okay to feed them the way I do my sundew seedlings, and if so what should I look for to know its ready to be fed?

One thing I read says the movement of bugs inspires pitchers to produce more digestive fluid, is that true in your experience? Or does a dry pitcher just tend to refill itself eventually?

Well I like to feed my plants, so I'll just probably feed them at will. One thing I've heard mixed messages on is whether or not to put water in the pitchers themselves, some places say to put water in dry pitchers and others say its bad- what to do?
