The two growth points in that pot are from the same seedling. I do recall having one more plant with flowers this color, but it died unfortunately.. I don't remember if it was a division from this one, or an entirely different seed.

I've definitely done this successfully before. And I see at least one more root coming in - the reddish blob on the lower left of the plant. I say if you separate it and keep the soil wetter than usually for a while it will be fine.
