So my venus fly trap was going so well, and there was no sign of dying leaves or any problems.

Is it ok? It has been raining a bit, so maybe that could be the reason?

Leaves (and traps) just die.

It was that particular one's time to go......

It'll be replaced by other leaves.

Not to worry. :-D

Its fine..
its just one of the oldest leaves on the plant..
(you can tell because it is "under" all the newer leaves)
just normal "old trap" death..perfectly normal.

*sniff sniff* but i don't want it to go :(

So many memories...

lmao! It reminds me of old times. I was like that too. I saw a dead leaf and was like.. "noooo!!". But now...I don't care. lol. The VFT's pump out number of leaves. :p 15 leaves or so per rosette. ;) don't worry. Let it get adjusted...then it will do amazing...especially since u are growing it outside.

Yeah it's just a dying leaf. No worries.

Here is a pot of my VFTs at the end of the season, late October 2004:

thats a perfectly healthy pot of VFTs!

normally I cut off dead/dying leaves as they appear,
but I probably stopped doing that about mid-September that year..
because the season was almost over and I was going to cut off all the leaves soon anyway.

From the obe pic it looks like an older leaf whose time is up. In the same pic I see new, healthy leaves emerging. All is good!
