Windex as a pesticide

Well a single shot of windex killed at least 1 of 4 roaches. These were the 2 inch (min.) Florida suckers. I wondered if anyone else uses more enviromentlaly friendly pesticides like me? If so on what? I I also discovered not onlydo Fire Ants not like CPs they also don't like fire...
Also how to bugs "breath"? I sort of got the roach on the top and one side so I wondered why only one died.

breathe.
Well... that's one of the reasons why they are small. (relative to their size before)
here's the short version- they have holes at their sides called spiracles. The spiracles branch off into many tubes called trachea, they branch off further, again and again until it reaches all of the body's tissues and cells. then the O2 diffuses into the cells and the CO2 out of the cells and is expelled. They don't have lungs, and blood doesn't carry the O2, CO2 (it carries nutrients... their circulatory system is also kind of weird...but that's another story) The movement of air is facilitated when whe insect moves, although some larger insects (for example mantids) purpusefully pump their abdomens to increase airflow.
