I have some sundew seedlings that I'm thinking of posting for the NASC Benefit Auction. Since they are so young, I'd like to know: How big should the seedlings be before they can handle being shipped? The species I'm talking about are capensis varieties and maybe tokaiensis.
If well-protected I would expect most sundew species to be o.k. after a short period of shipping at about the 1 cm. size. I like to ship by gently wrapping the roots of the plant(s) in wet long fiber sphagnum moss and packing them into a small, lidded condiment cup so they can't easily shift in transit yet the leaves are not covered by the moss. Granted, this is a bit of a delicate process.
