What do you give your nep to grab

I was wondering what some of you use for grabbing material for Nepenthes vines. What are some materials that are best?

The only plant I have climbing at the moment is my N. gracilis, and I have the vine tied to a plastic stake about 1/2" dia. This setup doesn't allow the tendrils to "grab" things but the plant seems to do just fine.

The vine just grows but the tendrils will grab and windaround things. I started staking my plants with bamboo poles (like $1 for 10 at the garden center) now most of my climbing neps with curly tedrils are curling around other nep vines and tendrils!.
