What do I do with the traps I\'ve been cutting away now?

Generally, I have new traps coming through for my Purpurea, Psittiana(you know what I mean) and a Stevensii. Now I look at pictures of other amatuer plants and I don't really see half cut traps with their new traps. Once I have a few new traps on each plant, do I cut the old traps that are no use or leave them on for photosynthesis?

as long as they're green, leave them on. that's where the plant gets most of its energy: photosynthesis.
