I've been pondering this for some time: I wonder why most of the time that the responsibility for restoring or preserving nature, or for it's decline, falls largely upon developing countries. These countries are only trying to use their natural resources to develop, much like the US did as our forefathers chopped down the endless forests east of the Mississippi river. I hate to see all the blame and responsibility getting thrown at these countries, like Brazil and Iraq--from this article I am glad to read that an international effort is in effect.
