Viewing Utricularia traps

elgecko

I've got a magic window!
I was wondering if anyone tried to grow Bladderworts like the picture in The Savage Garden near the end of the book for corkscrew plants?
I think I've read here that Bladderworts will not produce traps if there is light hitting the root system. If that is true then I guess the above idea will not work, but then again I do not know if the Bladderwort roots can be under water all the time either.
Something I might have to try.

Yes, it's easy: Just grow an aquatic bladderwort!

I did have some in my 40 gallon tank.
When I got discus I raised my temp to 83. After a few weeks they had all disappeared.

Guess they do not like it that hot.
Anybody know of any aquatics which can handle higher temps?

I think you should cover the plastic part with water in it with something dark, like a paper bag or something, then you can see the traps when you take it off.

Utri. gibba grows well in tropical waters. Mine certainly does.
