I was just wondering what the difference is between the two
as for I have looked at them both and found no real difference
can I use vermiculight instead or would this be a bid nono

I think vermiculite has some minerals in it which are bad for CPs, so most people stick just to perlite.

I think that although the pH varies with vermiculite, it tends to be alkalinic/basic, whereas peat is slightly acidic and that's what bogs usually are like.

Perlite is an inert stone material that is super heated and then whipped into a foam and recooled. It tends to have little or no mineral content.

Vermiculite is mica that has been heated till it expands. Generally it is somewhat basic.

well I hope the vermiculight will work I should well we will see I guess
