Is it ok to repot my Venus fly trap using walnut tree shavings? I'm very poor I have had no luck finding the right soil and sand I need. I love my plant but she needs to be repotted can I use wood shavings from yard ?
My sympathies - I've had severe money constraints and I know what you are dealing with. With flytraps you really do need peat or, more expensively, long fiber sphagnum moss. You may have seen this but if not it might be useful: Growing Dionaea muscipula | ICPS
