Update on me.

Hey,sorry I haven`t been on lately. The conection on the comp is very unreliable (Hardly ever connects).

Well I`m not doing to well lately:( I still eat but during the day I`m in alot of pain, and at night it`s agonizing. And the doctors won`t do anything about it anymore! They acnowledge I`m in chronic pain but will not give me any pain killers(The only thing that realy works is demerol)! So I`ve fallen way back in school.

My plants haven`t been fareing to well either(I`ve lost most of them),but don`t offer me any new plants because I`m afraid I just can`t care for them properly:( The p[roblem is I don`t have much energy anymore and so I was reluctant toi take them out of doors and many died of fungus attacks in my stuffy room. About the only thing doing well for me is my mini-bog. And the greenhouse I bought came missing pieces wich the company refuses to replace!

Every night I feel like going to the ER but half the time they won`t even give me pain-killers there and because it`s 70 miles away I`m very reluctant to go.

If they`d just do a mrcp on me they could see that my pancreas is not working right! But they refuse to because it can cause more iritation to the pancreas. But it`s like I`d sighn a release form and all saying it`s ok for them to do it and all. Ugh it`s all so frustrateing...

Noah.

sorry to hear that Noah. is there anyway you can get a referal to the Mayo Clinic and get your self up to Minnisota? i swear the docs at that place are a different sort and do good things. my step daughters been there and so has my sister. fixed them up when no one else could or would.

sorry to hear about your health problems.

What do the doctors think is wrong?

Aw man, that's a really bummer.

Well, you know that we're all rootin' for you here and hope that you'll recover soon! The problem with the doctors seems to be that no one will consistantly see you so no one wants to risk getting you hooked on some painkillers whereas if you had one or two doctors consistantly checking up on you, they would worry more about you than covering their own butts! I hope you can get the treatment you need, soon!

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Hi Noah

I'm so sorry to hear that.  I've been thinking of you and wondering how you were doing.

I wish I could win the lottery so I could pack you off to the best hospital in the country.  You've been suffering far too long.  Seems like there would be something that could be done to clear all this up once and for all.

I'm sorry to hear about your plants too.  That's rough.  But you know once you get better and feel capable of caring for the plants we can help replace your collection.

You know we are all here pulling for you.

For newer folks who don't know, Noah has been suffering from complications from a snake bite for a very long time (over a year I believe).  He has been in and out of hospitals for extended stays and on a feeding tube until not too long ago.  Its been a very rough road for both Noah and his family... physically, emotionally and financially.

So keep Noah in your thoughts and prayers.  He has been very brave and has kept his chin up through incredible hardship and pain.  He's been away from us a lot due to the hospitals stays and difficulty getting online but still checks in when he can.

Keep coming by when you can.  We miss seeing you around.

Scott.

My DR. I see for my migraines believes that I am haveing residual "flareups" in my pancreas that may or may not be caused by my Agkistrodon sp.(Copperhead or cottonmouth) Bite. As for me I believe I have chronic pancreatitis since I have EVERY symptom of that disease and I feel the same as when I had my acute atacks EXCEPT not as nauseated and none of the crushing back pain.

Jim. I might have to look into that. I tried Sty.Judes but they don`t treat pancreatitis oddly enough.

EST. Yeah I know about getting hooked on Narcotics,I had pretty bad withdrawl off of percaset once. And I have a friend who has Chronic Pancreatitis and he got adicted to ultram and can`t get off it now.

So sorry to hear this...My thoughts and prayers go out to you.

I'm so sorry for your troubles..I will hold you in my thoughts. Is there any way you could get yourself to the Mayo Clinic? They might be able to help you. April

Wow sorry to hear all that. You probably don't know me yet, I'm fairly new. But hello and I hope you get better. Sometimes doctors can tick you off and they try to say something you know is wrong. Only you know how your feeling right. Just got to find the right one. Was it a pet or wild, the snake that is?

They have cards in the store that say "Get well soon". Screw that. Get well NOW! I don't really know what else to say. In the words of that one song that grows on you like freakin' mildew... don't worry, be happy.

This is getting absurd, Noah. The doctors you'r going to aren't worth their weight in crap. it has to be medical malpractice. they aren't doing crap for you. DEMAND opiates! get some oxycodone or vicodin or hydrocodone. better yet, liquid morphine you can take sublinguilly (sp?).

if they won't do that, go to a different doctor. it's just absurd how these people are treating you.

are you seeing an endocrinologist?

How did you get bit?

Was this a snake you were keeping, or one in the wild?

I don't think too many people keep copperheads as a pet.

I could be wrong.

sounds like those doctors aren't worth a crap. you need to find a better doctor asap to stop your suffering! you'll be in my thoughts and prayers!

Scott I was picking pears and dropped one and BAM I was bit as I was picking it up. LOL I wouldn`t keep such a dangerous animal as a pet. Though I would like a lionfish

Clint:Whats a endocrinologist? I do ask for opiates but I usualy get turned down. Unfortunately I`m not a very "demanding" person. It`s hard for me to demand somebody to do something. I wish they`d just give mea few vials of Demerol since thats the only thing that will make me fell totally better. Morphine and such just numb the pain a bit not totally make me pain free. Codeine is good for numbing a bit but still being able to function properly(Not sleep all day) Vicodin makes me itch like mad! (Still I`ve used up what I`ve had leftover from like my snakebite Lol).

PAK: you`d be surprised! Recently several king cobras escaped into the wild here in Shothern MO. Thankfully they where retrieved:)

an endocrinologist studies the glandular system. the pancreas is a gland right?

Pak you are wrong. Many people keep venomous snakes. Copperheads are popular because they are not fatal, to most people.

I was glad to see your shotgun post.

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles and hope you get better.

For your information, opiates are known to induce recurrent attacks of pancreatitis, especially if the underlying pathology is chronic. Perhaps this is why you haven't been given these medications.

Both acute and chronic pancreatitis can be medical emergencies of the first magnitude. If not already done, you should ask for a full battery of blood tests and direct visualization of the pancreas by radiographic means, as both are useful in the diagnosis of pancreatitis. If your doctors suspect this condition and such tests have not been performed, I would ask to be referred to another specialist.

In any case, I hope all goes well. I'm sure your plants are also waiting patiently for your recovery!
