Hey everyone - I just saw this notice from Matt at the UCONN Greenhouses in Storrs, Connecticut:
The pseudo-carnivorous plant Amorphophallus titanum is going to be blooming at the University of Connecticut (Storrs, Ct, USA) sometime around June 30th, a first for the New England area. You can keep up to date at the UConn Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Conservatory website:
http://florawww.eeb.uconn.edu/Titanum/Titanum2004.html
The EEB Conservatory also has a fair number of actual carnivorous plants on display, including what are probably the only Roridula dentata plants at a public greenhouse in the US.
-Matt
I hope some folks in the area will be able to check it out!
