LOL! All I know is that I've got a light purple flower from what was sent at U. tricolor. The leaves look very similar to what was sent to me as calcyfida The calcyfida has grasslike leaves in addition to spadelike leaves, while the tricolor just has the spadelike leaves (and no veining).

I asked the church secretary to bring in her camera this morning, so hopefully I can capture a picture, and a decent one, before the flower closes.

calycifida doesnt have grass like leaves? sure yah dont have praelongia(sp?) mixed in with it?

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm wonder if it isnt a calycifida blooming and not tricolor though the only calycifida ive had personally see that doesnt have veining in the leaves is the white flowered form but ive only had 5 varieties/cultivars. yah need to get a pic Jim

The praelonga that the one Canadian grower sent us 2 years ago died during this winter. So did the tricolor and this was a replacement. But I'm used to getting plants that are mislabeled, so... 2 years ago I was given sandersonii blue from 2 people and it was obvious that one of was not. There was another species that was sent under one name but it turned out to be bisquamata....

well if it turns out to be calycifida and not tricolor ill send yah the genuine non-blooming SOB. its growing like a weed in my dart frog tanks

actually Jim whats really frustrating is knowing that your plants WERE correctly labled and a plant stand collapsing causes most of the tags to disappear and 8 months later yah have something really cool blooming but yah have no freaking clue what it is

Ouch! I just put my pings and Utrics outside and a heavy rainfall caused the pings to float and get moved around. As for adult plants, it was not a problem. But now I have a bazillion unidentified stray leaves. Some might be Aphrodite and some might be Titan or.... Yeah, I hear ya.

This 'Tricolor' is open and I'm just waiting to get the camera for some semblence of confirmation.

Oh, and ditto about the hijack!
