Stroopwafels (HEMA)

Hi guys,

A fascinating new thing I have come upon is a Dutch cookie called a Stroopwafel. A family friend brought over a bag of stroopwafels that a friend of her's got from Amsterdam and they were delicious! I taught my grandparents how to eat them the proper way (put the cookie on top of the cup of a hot beverage and let the syrup melt within before eating it) but we only have a limited supply (1 bag).

This is what they look like and how they are packages and sold http://www.peaktalk.com/archives/Stroopwafels.gif this is how you eat them http://www.thenibble.com/reviews/main/cereals/images/stroopwafels-coffeecaps.jpg and here's a close up http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/6c/Gaufre_biscuit.jpg

They're these flat disc shaped waffles that are really no bigger then the palm of your hand with this caramel like syrup inside.

I was wondering if there is anyone traveling to the US or would be able to buy some HEMA brand packaged Stroopwafels for me. I need about 50 of these packages and will pay you a fee for helping me get them over here from the Netherlands, Germany, or Belgium. If you or someone you know can help me out, please pm me and we can figure out how to do this.

Thank you

Why does it have to be that brand? I'm sure you can find other brands here.

Yeah if the brand name isnt that important you can get those in the US as I remember seeing them back home in MI. South western MI was settled by the dutch, some more dutch people, a few more dutch people and a couple of confused Germans who thought they said deutsch. I always saw those things and wondered what they were, they were always sitting with the rest of the fresh baked good like the muffins and cookies in the store. Can't say I ever tried them but at least I know what they are now.

my Dutch family members always bring these when they visit. They are so DELICIOUS! Try finding home made stroopwafels, they are so much better than the already fantastic store-bought ones! Thanks for giving me a stroopwafel craving now haha.

It must be the HEMA brand because we've tried quite a few brands and it was enough for us to stick with just HEMA.
