Strange growths on reniformis

I took my U. reniformis out of its pot to check on its stolons, and there were several thick, white growths with stolons branching off. Each one is about half a centimete wide, and the leaf starts from the bottom of one of the growths. My reniformis also only puts up one leaf at a time with the previous leaf dying as the next one emerges. Is this normal for U. reniformis?
