Do they need to be sown for proper stratification or can I just do it in their envelope? Right now they are just in an envelope in the fridge. Am I harming them? Thanks.
To properly stratify seeds there must be moisture, but not too much. I usally mixke the seeds with a little moist vermiculite or milled sphangum and place it in a zip lock bag after I refrigate them for the required lenght of ti I then sow them. I have planted them in little pots then refrigated them, but that takes up too much room for me.
