Shouldn't my purpurea be purple & other questions

You may think twice about adding lime to your sarracenia. According to Schnell, purpurea is able to colonize alkali marls not because they're used to the conditions, but because vegetable detritus accumulates in certain parts of that environment providing small island refuges which provide them with conditions similar to the ones found in peat marshes.

Having said that, I am curious to see the results of your experimentation should you decide to carry it out.
