I have noticed that with any Sarracenia seed the darker the better. Darker brown (not dead or parts of seed) seed absorbs water faster and thus germinates faster. Really light brown seed on the other hand takes months to abosrb water and germinate. Has anyone else noticed this?
I think genetics plays a big role in seed color. Different spp./hybrids will have different colors. I don't see how this could be related to germination efficiency. Wouldn't be a bad little study for someone to undertake on their own time.
