Up for bid from PetFlyTrap.com is a mature, flowering division of Sarracenia 'Red Bug'. This cultivar is one of the bug series, which originated at UNCC. But unlike most of the bug series cultivars, this one produces slender, upright pitchers. Flowers are similar to S. rubra...petite and deep red. The pitchers are small (up to eight or so inches tall), resembling its Sarracenia rubra heredity; but are spectacularly veined with a fibrous net of deep red reticulations, all on a copper-red background. This is a really neat little hybrid, especially for those who may not have room for the 'big boys' of the Sarracenia world!

This plant is blooming now, so this should end up getting to you in time to enjoy the flowers. Pitchers are also coming up, and should be hardened off by the time this ships.

Bidding starts a bit high at $8; but PetFlyTrap.com will pay the shipping. That will keep the winner from having to wait for a separate shipping payment to arrive.

Incidentally, there is very little time (read practically none!) for me to surf the Net, so questions posted on this thread may take some time to get replies. If you have pressing questions relating to this item, please e-mail me directly at orders(at)petflytrap.com, and I'll get back to you as quickly as possible.

Good Growing!

Mike
