I've got a magic window!
I hope I have my monitors colors adjusted better. The last pics I posted I saw on 2 different monitors and my colors were way off.
My ring flash came for my new camera so I was playing with it for the following pics. Enjoy.

Awesome - I've been wanting one of those for years and just can't seem to get one. Which flash do you have and what camera/lens?

hey Steve. is that first one D. pulchella? those are some very nice pictures!
Alex

Wow great shots. They look really great.

Which flash did you get? The Phoenix ringflash is the cheapest one I've seen around but it gets mixed reviews - ranging from junk to very good.

I've been trying to get the ring flash that's designed for my camera. It has a power on/off/standby cable for use under timelapse mode. The last minute eBay bidders always skyrocket the price.

Nice!

Awesome pics!

Thanks for the comments.

edit: It is D. pulchella.

I'm using a Sony Alpha camera.

Phoenix RL-59M Auto Ring Flash

Phoenix RL-59M Auto Ring Flash works very well. Construction is not bad. The plastic it is made from seems to be the hard brittle type. For the price that I paid off eBay, it's not a bad deal.

Ok, keep us updated on that ringflash. There were gripes about it not dedicating properly on a couple different cameras (proper unit to camera), crummy tech support that couldn't answer if the unit was compatible with the model camera. Turns out this is the same unit as the Vivitar 6000af which has bad reviews on it.

Most of the other reviews I've seen on the Phoenix were generally positive.
