removing pitchers

boxofrain

does this rag smell like chloroform to you?
I have a couple of newly acquired Neps. (less than 3 months) with pitchers that are fading . When is the best time to remove these? When they start to fade or after the entire pitcher has dried up?
Thanks in advance

i remove them when the tendril has dried up.

Unless you want the plant looking "picture perfect" for a show or something there's no harm in leaving the dying pitchers on until they shrivel up completely. Let the plant get every last bit of nutrients out of them it can.

I usually cut off the tops of the pitchers when they start to brown to keep things neat. The pitcher bases seem to last quite a bit longer, and I remove them at the tendril when they finally go. I've had no problems with this practice.

I cut them as soon as they show signs of ugly.. Ugly is not welcome in the GH's. We had a falling out many years ago.
