Rather odd behavior w/ D. capensis

I have a D. capensis 'Narrow' that has been growing very well for me, even putting up a flower stalk. But, I noticed, after about 2-3 weeks after I received my plant, its leaf stalks have become wider, and now I am seeing its leaves (the part w/ the tentacles, not the leaf stalk) getting shorter, but wider as well. I suppose some of it is do in part to the flower, but the widening of the leaf stalks and blades has been going on for a few weeks. I don't think it has to do w/ light, because it is making a bunch of dew, and its tentacles are a dark pink. Could it be something in the soil?
