Question about N. veitchii (m)

Hello. I have a question about the (m) clone of N. veitchii:

1. Are m1, m2, m3 etc different specific plants from this batch of seed?
2. If a N. veitchii is just labelled N. veitchii (m), is that just a random plant from the batch of seeds that's not the specific plants m1, m2, m3?
3. If the m1, 2, 3 etc plants have grown to flowering sizes, how are there more seedling sized (m) plants that are not from a small cutting? Or if the same parents used to create the original (m) clone were to be bred again it would also be named (m) and that's why there's sometimes a new seedling sized (m)?

Thanks!

"M" is a grex, a batch of seeds that were sown and all plants from that batch put under the label. I would assume many were put into TC, meaning so long as the callus that developed when they sprouted keeps getting divided they can keep producing seedling-sized plants out of new TC explants, and a mix of clones from those that were put into TC. Any specifically numbered plants will be individual clones that either were not put into TC and grown straight out from seed, and are propagated now from cuttings only, or were a specific TC clone that has been isolated and maintained with some explants having matured.

Veitchii m is a seed grown grexx made originally by Exotica Plants out of Australia. The have made the 3 different batches of seed and each time it gets a new number. EP doesn't clone any of their nepenthes. Mike Fallen breed a bunch of veitchii in November of 2020. Thos are all from EP 1st grexx of veitchii m but Mike gave his individual # and lot of people with cuttings of thos keep his original ID #. Veitchii are my favorite and always glad to chate about them!

I see, thanks for the info!

But just for clarification, are all m1s the same or are all m1s from just the same batch of seed? I'm a bit confused as you mentioned EP's batch numbers are seed batches, but Mike's individual # are specific plants?

And if a (m) has no number associated with it, it's just unknown which seed batch it came from?

The M 1 are EP 1st release. They're all seed grown individuals, EP doesn't clone at all. Mike Fallen had several veitchii M 1 so to tell them apart he gave them #. So on ebay you will see people selling veitchii M 1 × M 2 or M1 x M3. Thos are the one Mike made and are a both veitchii M 1s just he added 2,3 to identify them. At the time EP had not released grexx 2 or 3 so there was no confusion, as all veitchii M were grexx 1 at that point. Once EP released grexx 2 then 3 later, people would mix up Mike Fallen m x m #'s with EP #'s lol why the confusion you see today. So both thos veitchii below he used are from EP 1st grxx. Hopefully that helps a little. Now EP just calls all the M just M and very seldom reference the grexx # to avoid confusion. Screenshot_20240807_084318_Instagram.jpg
