Pruning drosera spathulata

Is pruning of old leaves recommended with drosera spathulata? I was thinking possibly that snipping off older, less dewy leaves from the lower portion of the plant might help the plant to concentrate more of its energy on new growth and new dew. Yes no maybe?

Keep leaves there unless it is dead. It will help with photosynthesis (ie more leaves to get light).
