potted plants vs. bulbs

Call me dumb... what is the difference?  Is a potted plant more mature?  Does a bulb not have growth yet?

Are bulbs more difficult to grow than potted plants?

A potted plant is growing actively. VFT bulbs are not in active growth, have no leaves yet, but do have roots, and are a collection of the previous growth's leaf bases: a storage organ for the next seasons growth. They quickly grow into new plants when planted.

For the inexperienced... go with plants. They are easier to keep going than bulbs are to get started. I would recommend trying bulbs after you have an established healthy plant.
